It was his fathers dedication to his patients that really inspired him. After his father finished working at 8pm in the evening, he would drive to his mothers farm, get his youngest brother out of his wheelchair (he had muscular dystrophy) and give him an adjustment before his long ride home. He typically got home around 9:30 pm and there would be his wife and seven children lined up in the foyer around the adjustment table, all wanting their adjustments. Dr. Lohr accompanied his father when he went to make house calls on patients who could not get out of bed, or up off the floor.
Dr. Lohrs’ father is 79 years old today and still goes to his office every day to take care of his patients. His uncle and younger brother are chiropractors also. It is not unusual for them to adjust 30-40 family members on any given holiday that they get together.
Dr. Lohr completed his undergraduate work in his home state of Michigan at St. Clair college where he was offered a basketball scholarship. He received his Doctor of Chiropractic degree from Logan College in St. Louis in December of 1986.
He practiced in Bloomington, IL for many years. He was voted; “Best guest lecturer of the year” at Illinois Wesleyan University and was an honorarium lecturer to the nursing school there for many years.
He was on call with four other physicians for Illinois State University’s Braden Auditorium visiting Broadway casts and took care of many famous entertainers.
Dr. Lohr is really looking forward to continue providing chiropractic care and spinal decompression to the friendly, caring, hard working people of Central Illinois.
